Aloha, I’m Stacey!
I have always had a deep fascination with glass, a passion that evolved over time, beginning with seed bead weaving and eventually leading me to the world of stained glass. My journey into hot glass started in Santa Fe, New Mexico, where I began my apprenticeship in a glassblowing studio/gallery. While many glassblowers focused on large-scale pieces, my interests took a different path. To my surprise—and likely to the concern of others at the time—my work became progressively smaller. I found that working with small amounts of glass suited me, and eventually, I developed a unique line of hand-blown miniature perfume bottles and vases.
This passion for smaller-scale glasswork naturally led me to explore bead torching, where I taught myself the art of making glass beads. The compact, efficient setup of bead torches allowed for greater mobility, enabling me to move my studio to the island of Hawaii 23 years ago. There, I established my own studio on my property.
Now, on the lush slopes of Mauna Kea, I continue to be inspired by the vibrant surroundings. In my miniature studio, I work with both blown glass and glass beads, while also experimenting with metal fabrication. I delight in following my creative muse to craft colorful jewelry with a whimsical, playful flair.
